Why I am not blogging much anymore

My appologies for the fact that there haven't been many new postings recently, but my joy in blogging has been slowly deteriorating. This is mainly due to the fact that slowly, but surely my blogs have become psycho magnets. Too many weirdos have been visiting my blogs and leaving nasty and/or weird comments. Obviously, this is never what I had intended for my blogs, but it is what has happened over time.

I don't want to expose myself or my family to this any longer. Maybe at some point in the future I'll be back blogging somehow. But not for the time being, I don't think.

It's a shame, as so many of you have been fun sharing my life's adventures with.

I already blocked non-members from commenting on my blogs a while ago, but I can't shake the thought that these freaks might still be looking at me and my family.

Sorry...

Hello Simone,

I cannot tell you how sorry I feel for the inconvenience and discomfort you must have been going through. I had absolutely no idea of nasty comments and what you are describing here. Yet, I can fully understand your reluctance of simply going on under the given circumstances. The sad thing is that many folks like myself have felt priviledged to follow your blogs and feel so much love and sympathy for you and your family that it really feels like losing your best friend. I wish you will not forget us and come back into our lives some day soon. I just can't wait since you have given me more strength and courage than you know.
Big hugs and lots of love from me

Jürgen

PS: Many of the members here have like myself provided an e-mail address on their profile. How about a mailing every once in a while to those selected people? It's maybe just a naive suggestion of mine.

What a world... I'm so sorry about that! Why is it that some bad minded people always have to ruin good things and the pleasure that comes along with them?
I totally agree with you, Simone, it is certainly not a good feeling.
Still, I'm very angry towards those freaks!

I respect your choice, dear Simone. There's no point in keeping on blogging about your personal life if you don't feel safe anymore. However, thanks for sharing your funny moments with us (a.k.a. the "non-psychos") for all these years. Your posts were always very interesting to read.
I hope you won't discontinue your music blog 'cause it's great. As you MAY know by know, I love the way you write and, of course, the way you think.
Too bad the world is full of idiots. Well, if it wasn't, we probably would have seen you on the PZ even after 1998. ;-)

Loads of love,
Fil

Thanks everyone,

Yes, the main thing is that I don't want weirdos looking at and reading about my kids. But obviously, I realize that most of you have been nothing but wonderful over the years.

I will continue my music blog and I will keep you all updated on my new TV here in Aruba too ('Op z'n Hollands)

I just filmed the trailer yesterday. It was soooo funny doing a blue-screen shoot again. It reminded me of the old MTV days : )

Love to you all!
Simone

Hello Simone,

Just wanted to let you know that I still think and care a lot about you and would love to have you back on your blog, although I do understand why you are staying away...

Please keep us updated on that TV show of yours, I just can't wait.

Lots of love
Jürgen

First of all let me say I am sorry you have to feel the way you do when it comes to writing in your blog. Neither am I here to try and convince you to start writing again, I am just going to try and give you a different point of view.
The main reason I think people actually act like weirdoes on the internet is the fact they can be anonymous and being safe from being exposed they can do and say pretty much whatever they want to. However, it is just because they can stay anonymous and out of harms way they can post comments on blogs. This is I think also the reason they will never do anything outside of the “virtual world” that is internet because contrary to internet, police can intervene in the real world in a way they cannot on the internet. This is also a reason the very same weirdo’s will never do anything outside of internet. Internet weirdoes’ are just small, scared, shy, and generally people who don’t dare confront people in real life.
Also, you can still use a blog as a diary by simply closing it entirely and then invite people who you trust to read it. That is the way I use my blog, my reason however is a little different though yet similar since I’m in law school and want to either work as a future judge or politician perhaps anything posted on a blog can be used against you in the future, so weirdo’s in my case might be future journalists . However, 20 years from now, my children can read things about me and their life’s they would never have known. Granted one can keep a paper and pen diary yet, it is much more convenient using a blog, you can do so much more.
